UGH!!!!!!!!! The evolution of abortion terminology ticks me off
Remember when we were called "pro-life" or "pro-choice"?
Then instead of pro-life it became "anti-abortion". and people who support abortion are now "abortion rights activists."
Instead of "unborn child" it became "fetus"
Instead of the argument being about the life of the child in the womb, it became the "woman's choice" for "her life"
Or abortion should be legal across the board for that one in a million pregnant woman whose life is threatened by her pregnancy.
Today I was reading an article about the Supreme Court case on the Partial Birth Abortion Ban.
The term "partial birth abortion" is actually used in the law they are debating aout and the author of the article says things like "so-called partial birth abortion" or "the medical procedure that opponents call partial birth abortion" or "late term abortions."
I say Bullshit. Abortion activists spend time thinking up names and terms that make what they are doing seem noble and right. Or at least cushion the horror of the actual procedure so people think it is okay.
As someone who believes in the sanctity of human life, and that life begins at conception my anger burns toward the whole situation. These are children we are talking about here. Infants, babies. They are not "unpersons"
or "prepersons." In Rome they used to leave children out for wild animals to get if they didn't want them. Here we just try to get it done before the child is born so we don't have to face the child whose life is being taken.
I know that the people who are reading this are going to agree with me, so i'm not really doing any good, but i needed a place to vent my anger and frustration.
Thinking about my niece, it makes me sick that so many women in america never get the chance to know their child because of abortion, and they suffer the guilt and the consequences of buying into the lie that abortion is a "woman's choice for her body" and not the murder of an unborn child.

Erin, I'm glad you brought this up. My co-workers and I were watching Oprah the other day (I know, I know) and she was interviewing a girl who became pregnant at age 15 and tried to conceal it from her parents. Her boyfriend stepped on her stomach to keep it flat, she stabbed her abdomen to try to kill the baby, and when she eventually gave birth, they tossed it into a dumpster. The baby was found dead with a cracked skull. The judge who convicted her was only able to give her 6 years in prison because there was no proof that the baby was alive at birth. It was interesting to see the grief she showed, the gravity with which Oprah approached the situation, and even to watch the shocked reactions of my co-workers. I wanted to ask them (and really should have, if I had thought of it at the time) "How is this any different from abortion????" How come it's not the "woman's choice?" Does it change because she actually gave birth?
What are your thoughts?
Well, That's something i have always wanted to ask abortion supporters. Because i believe that most of them would consider what this girl and her boyfriend did murder. They would want her to be prosecuted and to spend time in prison. What really frustrates me is how they probably don't even see the contradiction. I've dreamed of asking the courts about this issue and seeing the response i get from abortion supporters, because they would most likely back themselves into a corner they couldn't get out of.
I totally agree. I posted a (sort of) related post...funny how a lot of us tend to think in the same directions about the same time...but you're right, these are babies! Babies are such cute, helpless, adorable, heart-melting little guys, and these are the people it is easiest to kill? I'm surprised people don't object just on sentimental grounds! Pictures of cute dogs and kitties make people angry about animal abuse! I don't see how anyone with half a brain could deny that babies are people - everyone knows how babies are born - and actually I think everyone does know, they are just "supressing the truth" and denying it to make them feel better. Germany has anonymous drop boxes to get rid of unwated babies...why anonymous? Because they feel ashamed and guilty.
Thank you for giving me faith that there are those in the next generation that value life and will fight for it, no matter how small or defenseless it may be! We live in a pragmatic world, where covenience rules. The bottom line is that it doesn't matter IF it is life, if it doen't jive with our lifestyle, get rid of it. It is simply a matter of what we want. Ethics, morality, and the value of human life are no longer an issue, practicality and convenience rule (look at the elections over the past few years. Character DOESN'T matter). We only condemn the murder of children when it offends our sensibilities and since abortion is done in a sterile environment by DOCTORS of all people, how wrong or offensive can it be? We have been lulled into a sense of acceptance on an issue that will surely drive us in a direction that we do not want to go and it will be too late once we arrive.
